Women in the Studio |
In 2020 women held only 2% of all producing positions across Billboard's Hot 100 songs. The same study found that the ratio of men to underrepresented women in producing was 180 to 1, and that women earned only 33 producing credits in six years with only 9 going to women of colour. Now in its 3rd year, Women in the Studio is a national accelerator, organized by Music Publishers Canada, that offers a series of curated production-related opportunities to women-identifying producer-songwriters from across the country. Tasked with designing a full refresh from previous years, I created a visual system, for a social media campaign to announce the 10 artist cohort of 2021 participants, and accompanying promotional material. |
